MENTAL WELLNESS

Perinatal Mental Wellness Project

Our new Mental Wellness Project intends on supporting emotional and mental health during the perinatal time and for pregnancy and all pregnancy outcomes, offering culturally relevant workshops that blend traditional practices with modern wellness strategies. Over the course of two years, we will host a series of monthly events designed to promote healing, resilience, and community connection.

PROJECT GOALS

  • Support Mental Wellness: Provide a safe space for individuals to address mental health challenges, reduce stress, and build emotional resilience.

  • Foster Community Connections: Offer activities like talking circles and mindfulness practices to create supportive networks.

  • Teach Wellness Tools: Share strategies such as mindfulness, meditation, and connecting with the land to manage emotions.

  • Reduce Stigma: Open dialogue around mental health, reproductive health, and perinatal wellness.

WORKSHOPS AND ACTIVITIES

  • Meditation & Mindfulness: Learn techniques for managing anxiety, fear, and emotions related to pregnancy and postpartum.

  • Talking/Sharing Circles: Participate in guided discussions focused on reproductive and perinatal health. Build trust, share experiences, and receive peer support.
