WHO WE ARE
The Northern Birthwork Collective is a team reproductive justice advocates (including birthworkers, parents, and community members) who are committed to creating safer spaces, programming and services for pregnant people in the Northwest Territories.
MISSION AND VISION
Our mission is to provide cost supported programming and services for all stages of the reproductive journey including conception, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, miscarriage, loss, abortion, and parenting.

We intend to provide continuous education to members of our community and grow a territory wide network of birthworkers who are able to provide collective care that is grounded in our values.

We acknowledge that colonization has had a great impact on our bodies and traditions, and believe that revitalizing traditional knowledge is a crucial step in our collective healing.
The Northern Birthwork Collective’s vision is for all families, pregnant and birthing people from underserved communities to have access to holistic and dignified support, that is respectful and free of oppression and racism.
OUR OFFERINGS

Perinatal Support
Birthworkers (or Birth Keepers, Aunties, Doulas etc) support families and individuals during pregnancy, birth & postpartum by providing emotional, spiritual, physical and informational support. They are advocates for their clients wishes, and support them to have more confident and empowered experiences.

Lactation + Infant Feeding Support
Providing lactation care services to folks who need support in feeding. Whether folks are choosing to breastfeed, chestfeed, or bottle feed, our lactation team can provide education and guidance to ensure that the feeding experience is wholly supported and folks feel validated in their journey.
