JERUSHA DOMES (SHE/HER)

  • Steering Committee Member

Born and raised in Hay River, Northwest Territories, I’ve always held a deep connection to the North and the unique challenges faced by families in our communities. In 2021, after the birth of my daughter, I found myself drawn into the world of birth advocacy. Navigating the medical system as a new parent opened my eyes to the importance of knowing our rights during childbirth and the critical postpartum period.

Since then, I’ve dedicated myself to learning how to advocate for informed, respectful, and empowered birth experiences—both for myself and others.

With a strong belief in the power of education and support, I aspire to complete my doula training and one day offer my services to my community members.

I’m honoured to be a part of the NBC Steering Committee, where I can contribute to meaningful conversations and help shape solutions that support families and birthing people throughout the North.
